Our combo package does exactly as it says in the name; we combine Maldives local island life with a resort stay. For many guests a holiday to the Maldives is not complete without a visit to sample the luxury and relaxation of resort life. So with this in mind we include a 3 night resort stay, which can be extended or upgraded upon request.
During the first part of this this tour we stay on the local island of Maafushi. Maafushi was once a very typical Maldivian local island but since the introduction of local tourism Maafushi is proving a popular destination for those wishing to experience the Maldives without paying resort prices. Maafushi is located in South Male Atoll and is only 90 minutes away from Male by ferry boat or 30 minutes by speedboat. There are two beaches on opposite sides of the island, one of which is a tourist bikini beach. With over 70 guesthouses some with 6 floors there are plenty of accommodation options to meet all budget needs. There are a variety of local cafes and guesthouse restaurants, some situated on the harbor and with water sport and excursion providers all eager for your business Maafushi provides the ideal destination to discover the Maldives on a budget and mix with other tourists.

The final days of your holiday are spent on a 3* resort island. Lounge on white beaches and soak up the sunshine, indulge in a spa treatment or just sip a cocktail as you watch the ever changing colours of the sunset. We have personally selected our resorts to ensure they provide you with the resort experience of a lifetime. We feel the resorts we offer provide warm hospitality, house reefs worth snorkeling, established dive Centres and the traditional ‘no shoes, no news’ holiday the Maldives is known for.
Reiserute

Local and Resort Combination - 8 Days

Day 1

Arrive at Male International Airport where you will be greeted and assisted with your transfer to the local island of Maafushi in South Male Atoll. Upon arrival at your guesthouse, you will have time to settle in before exploring the island and familiarising yourself with the surroundings or taking your first dip in the hotel pool.

Day 2

Following breakfast, you will be taken by speedboat to an idyllic sandbank just a short distance from Maafushi. Here you have the opportunity to swim, snorkel or just lie back and relax. A picnic lunch will be served before we head off to snorkel in search of turtles. The soft corals available on this reef usually mean its lunchtime all the time for turtles! On the return journey to Maafushi, cruise the Indian Ocean and hopefully spot dolphins.

Days 3-4

You have some free days with time for optional excursions (not included), or for those feeling a little more energetic take advantage of the many water sport options available including snorkeling and diving.

Day 5

After breakfast you are transferred back to Male airport where you will transfer on to the resort via the resort’s own transfer boat. Our representative will assist you with meeting this transfer though there may be a short wait depending on the resort boat’s schedule.

Upon arrival at the resort, your time is free to relax and do as little or as much as you wish.

Days 6-7

Today your time is free to relax and do as little or as much as you wish.

Day 8

Today the resort team will transfer you back to Male International Airport in time for your departure flight.

Overnatting

4 nights accommodation in Garden room guesthouse at Stingray Beach Inn and 3 Night accommodation in Superior Beach Bungalow at Embudu Village resort in either a single, double or triple room. Please note that Embudu Village does not have a swimming pool, but lots of pristine beaches.

Airport and domestic transfer assistance, local island return transfer and and inter-island transfers by speedboat are included.

The Maldives is a Muslim country and therefore care needs to be taken with regard to the dress code on the local islands. While it is acceptable for men to wear t-shirts and shorts or swim shorts, women should maintain a more conservative approach by wearing t-shirts, loose shorts or sarongs. The islands we visit are more tolerant of guests wearing traditional beachwear, however, women should avoid wearing bikinis and swimsuits on more public beaches. During the local island tours, where we may have access to mosques and family homes, shoulders and thighs should be covered out of respect for local customs.
